RT @yantor3d: Batch remove unused influences in a single function call, rather than one function call per influence. #Maya #Python #rigging #rigType #mayaAPI https://t.co/xsKlF2Qnt4 http://twitter.com/NielsRoscher/status/1145404961444028417

Explaining code using ASCII diagrams looks amazing and can be really helpful to show complex issues quickly. See

I use https://t.co/jNKKnIF8b4 for editing diagrams. It’s web-based and you can paste your diagram into it if you need to make changes later. https://t.co/HShjBR6rzT http://twitter.com/NielsRoscher/status/1143069513761603584

RT @madeinmpls: @riggingdojo Reminds me of how much fun I had researching & rigging the Snake Giant’s face for King Arthur. Snakes like this viper have complex upper and lower jaw mechanics w/ multiple points of articulation. Their left & right mandibles can laterally separate in order to swallow large prey https://t.co/3vbMwJSpA9 http://twitter.com/NielsRoscher/status/1142162885210267650

. @tech_art_gent wrote some more on refactoring a rigging system in Python. Excellent read!

This looks really cool. I wish I was in London to attend! https://t.co/FfKp3RYW84 http://twitter.com/NielsRoscher/status/1141590367185395712

RT @chrislesage: A while ago, @KarolisGalkus posted a #rigtip about using #maya3d eulerToQuat for sin and cos. You can use that to rig a perfectly spherical eye using only a skinCluster. Perfectly parametric and game-engine friendly! https://t.co/pMXipqwBFI https://t.co/JNunTZGL3P http://twitter.com/NielsRoscher/status/1140235762497216513

RT @markj3d: @brave_rabbit @chadvernon I never figured out why there’s not safer management system for scripts in Maya, really the whole scripteditor could do with a proper focused update. http://twitter.com/NielsRoscher/status/1139950777366192128

I’ve found PyCharm to be very dependent on disk speed. Even the prefs become slow if app and repos aren’t all on SSD. It does do a lot with linting and GIT integration but I found the sluggishness so annoying that I only use it for Maya remote debugging. Sublime Text for editing. https://t.co/yswg5YF8c2 http://twitter.com/NielsRoscher/status/1138305660989390849

Great tip! But make sure you don’t need your Node Editor bookmarks and tabs anymore before you delete the hyperView nodes as they are stored in them. https://t.co/X8aaAbWBcb http://twitter.com/NielsRoscher/status/1137325164088254464
