I was also under the impression that Python list comprehensions are well optimized and quite fast.
But 25x is a significant speed increase. So if item order doesn’t matter I’ll be using sets a lot more often from now on.

RT @Saihtamen: I’ve just uploaded some videos covering vector & matrix math in #Maya3D, and some videos about how data flows through the DG graph and more. Been sitting on these for a while, figured I might as well share them

RT @yantor3d: How to achieve perfect skin weights
1. Write a script that assigns random skin weights
2. Run it on a quantum computer

I also have all my Maya preferences scripted.
The only exceptions are Shelves and Node Editor Attribute View Templates. It’s more convenient to edit those in the UI I find. And they’re saved in separate files so errors are more rare and easier to track down. https://t.co/0Li2i8g8Hf http://twitter.com/NielsRoscher/status/1429728938914455559

I highly recommend creating attribute templates for the Node Editor. It’s a one time effort to go through all the nodes. But it pays off big-time every time you don’t have to hunt for for the “obscure” matrixSum or other attributes that riggers use often but Autodesk forgot about https://t.co/Sw0GSug6PV http://twitter.com/NielsRoscher/status/1426934509753208832
